  1. Jin - I enjoyed Brian's pics in today's OhLaLaMag. It always helps when you have a great subject to shoot. Your hitchhiker really made me smile.

I'm a member of the Phoenix Metropolitan Men's Chorus and the 2009 Silent Auction Chair for the Chorus.

I'm writing today in hopes that you would be willing to donate one of your prints as a silent auction item for our Jello Wrestling fundraiser on June 6th. We have done extremely well with photographs in the past and have received Photographs of Steph and Alex of OhLaLaMag, Paul Freeman, Zach Burns, Errikos Andreou and David Vance

Proceeds from this fundraiser will also go to help support The Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS and One Voice Community Center.

The Phoenix Metropolitan Men's Chorus has brought smiles to the faces and tears to the eyes of gay and straight audiences across Arizona through our music for the past 18 years.

In addition to our Concert Season and as a voice through music for the LGBT community, the chorus has sung at every Gay Pride, the opening ceremonies for the Arizona AIDS Walk, World AIDS Day, the groundbreaking for the LGBT Habitat for Humanity house, the Transgender Ball and for the children of Free Arts Arizona, to name just a few.

We've also sung the National Anthem at the Gay Rodeo, the coronation ceremonies for the Arizona Imperial Court and for the Phoenix Suns. Our audiences are extremely diverse. We've performed for “Snowbirds” in Mesa and Apache Junction trailer parks and for seniors in Sun City.

We were invited to perform at the Republican Party's Lincoln Day banquet, only to be UNINVITED once the more strident members of the party found out we were a GAY chorus. The new Catholic Bishop from Phoenix also has prohibited our choir from singing in any Catholic Churches because of our "chosen" sexuality.

These two snubs have been worn as a badge of honor by our members.

The chorus has grown from a dozen men that met in a member's living room to a performing arts organization with over 100 members. Along with our flagship, the Phoenix Metropolitan Men's Chorus, we have two vocal ensembles Canyon Echoes and Harmonic Vibrations, our dance
troupe (ku)randa dancers, and this season launched Phoenix Metropolitan Philharmonic Ensemble, a 30-member concert band that is comprised of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
    allied musicians.

With this growth we've come to realize that we can't remain a viable Arts Organization with only the revenues produced by our concert tickets and member dues. Like all arts organizations, we reach out to the community by applying for both public and corporate grants. We've built a major donor base and have held a number of successful annual fundraisers.

Because of our non-profit, 501(c)3 status, your silent auction donation(s) are tax deductible.

To find out more information about us, please visit our web site at www.phoenixmetropolitanmenschorus.org.

We do hope you will give this request your utmost consideration in order that we might be able to continue to be a voice of our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intergender communities.

    Yours in song,

    Mike Triggs
